Celeb Twitter Round-Up: J Molley Opens Up About New Spiritual Journey
Often we take it for granted that our favourite zalebs seem to be living their best lives. However, beneath the glamorous facades, they may be hiding a ton of pain, sadness and despair. What’s more, they’re struggling to open up about it.
In recent years, South Africa’s entertainment industry has lost the likes of Patrick Shai, HHP and Riky Rick to the overwhelming effects of anxiety, stress and depression As a result, it has sparked a national conversation about mental health issues.
Rapper J Molley – real name Jesse Mollet – is one such zaleb who has been candid about his mental health struggles, which he’s been dealing with since his teenage years. As you can imagine, J Molley caused a stir at the end of May when he took to social media and threatened to take his own life.
Thankfully, the “Up To” hitmaker shared a positive update on Twitter/X on Wednesday, 5 June:
Per the statement, J Molley explained that, after a long time battling his “satanic demons”, he was now embarking on a spiritual journey to find peace and heal from his past struggles.
“In the past, I have been battling satanic demons in me that I was not aware of. In recent times, I have been blessed to experience a profound awakening of faith and spirituality. Through the grace of God, I have been saved and have started dedicating my life to serving our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ.”
Referring to himself as “a vessel for the divine will of Jesus Christ”, the 25-year-old rapper said he would serve God in any capacity, be it in music, ministry or in another form. And regardless of what happens, he is – and will always be – grateful for the “unwavering support” of his fans.
“Whether I will choose to stay active on social media after this post or not will be determined on a [sic] decision I will be making later today. If no posts are made in the near future, just know I am in safe hands getting the deliverance and help I need that can only come from my saviour Jesus Christ & [sic] his professional trusted servants.”
If anything, J Molley has found a sense of peace and purpose in his newfound faith, far from the hopelessness and despair he was feeling not too long ago. Frankly, we couldn’t be happier for the guy!
Over on Twitter/X, many peeps agreed:
Others wondered if J Molley would make a comeback to the rap game – if so, would he experiment with Christian hip hop? This prompted a response from the man himself:
Well then, here’s hoping J Molley’s spiritual journey provides the inspiration, growth and healing he needs. Good luck, brother!
